Barcelona is such a great city. With the perfect amount of beach and city, I can most definitely live here. Starting with the food. It’s surprisingly cheap to eat. And aside from the food being affordable, the entertainment is intriguing. Like the traditional flamenco show. You’ve seen nothing in Barcelona if you don’t attend a flamenco show.
See animals in a zoo is great if you live in an area where there isn’t much wildlife but coming to Africa is a completely different experience. Seeing these big animals roaming the plains of the Maasai Mara was amazing.
The Fairmont Mara Safari Club is a top notch hotel in the Mara North Conservancy in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. This hotel has become very dear to us for it’s amazing location, beauty and especially, their great staff and exceptional customer service. In our previous blog, we mentioned our safari tour-guide driver, Henry. Henry was absolutely wonderful. Starting with his over 10 years experience in game drives in the area, his personality makes you want to stay forever. He has definitely won a place in our hearts for as long as we live. Anne, at the reception, was also astounding in helping us with whatever we needed. What made our experience in Kenya that much better was the fact that everyone was friendly and eager to help at all times. No matter if it was first thing in the morning or the middle of the night. So today, I will be writing a review on our experience staying in this hotel.
Lions, elephants, hyenas, leopards, monkeys, gazelle and antelopes galore, crocodiles, wildebeest, zebras… The list goes on and on of animals you see on a daily basis when on safari. It is truly amazing to witness how they act in the wild and how close the drivers take you into the action. Most of them know a lot about the animals and their behaviors. Take our guide Henry from the Fairmont Mara Safari Club. He is outstanding! Really knows his stuff and makes everyone feel comfortable with his extraordinary personality. Two thumbs up for this great tour guide. Hopefully, if you decide to visit Kenya and stay in the Fairmont Mara Safari Club, you are privileged with Henry as your driver and tour guide.
Recently, we’ve been asked why go to Thailand? What is so special over there that is making it so popular? Truthfully, we became interested in Thailand a few years ago when searching for our next adventure.
My husband has always loved Asia so when we started reading on things about Thailand and how inexpensive it was over there, it intrigued us. We then started noticing different movies that were filmed there. It was then, we realized how beautiful it was. So we made the bold decision to make a trip of it with some friends. What a great idea! First, I’ll mention briefly where we stayed both times we visited Thailand…
Some people believe Bora Bora is beautiful but not worth the trip because they feel there’s nothing to do or feel they’ll be very limited by being stuck in the hotel. And, this might be true to some extent. We, ourselves, had postponed our trip because we worried we’d get bored for the same reasons. You see, we’re the type of people who like to stay active, even on vacation. So, naturally, we assumed just because it was a small island that there would be nothing to do. Boy, were we wrong…
Swimming with black-tip sharks was definitely an experience of a lifetime. Although, these are not comparable to the great white or the tiger shark, it can still be scary at first to jump in the water with them. Especially, if it’s in open ocean, where it is easily 100 feet deep at least. This is what happened to us when we decided to buy the tour.

This is a review of our 2 short but awesome and active days in Hong Kong. Our day started early in the morning. The plane arrived to Hong Kong at 6:00am and it was too early to check into our hotel (JW Marriott Hong Kong), so we decided to leave our luggage in the hotel and started touring and walking around the city. We didn’t want to waste any time because our stay in Hong Kong was going to be very short, just 2 days and there’s just so much to see and do in Hong Kong.
Just a few days ago chase changed the IHG Rewards Club Visa to a new product which is now the the IHG Rewards Club Select MasterCard. The good news is that the MasterCard version of this card still has an 80,000 bonus point sign-up offer and most of the card benefits stayed the same. Read the rest of this entry
